To many kids, summer is the best time of year. With plenty of time off school and bright, sunny weather, this season is practically heaven on earth. Participating in a summer camp can be a fantastic way to make friends, have fun, get active, and make lasting memories to cherish for a lifetime. If you’re in Bonita Springs, Florida, there are a bunch of day- and week-long camps that might interest your kids. Read on to explore all the summer camp options in or near this charming city.

Surf Naples

Surf Naples offers summer camps, private lessons, and after-school programs for kids. Here, your kids can learn how to surf or skimboard from a team of professional, experienced instructors. At the summer camp, participants learn the fundamentals of surfing, skimboarding, and indoboarding. Each session includes lessons, demonstrations, and plenty of free time in the sun.

Sponsored by the City of Naples Parks and Recreation, Surf Naples is a summer camp for kids aged 7 to 14. It’s happening from June 6 to Aug. 1, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Full Steam Ahead

Full Steam Ahead provides a variety of enriching summer camps, classes, and after-school programs for kids in Naples, Fort Myers, and surrounding areas in southwestern Florida. Along with STEM camps focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, this organization also offers programs in arts and music. Check out the camps on robotics, animation, coding, illustration, graphic design, outdoor explorations, and more.

Full- and half-day summer camps happen from June 6. to Aug. 5. between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Full Steam Ahead even offers free early drop-off and late pick-up from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. As of Feb. 1, online registration has been open. Spots fill quickly, so make sure to sign up as soon as possible if you want to participate. The summer camps in Naples take place at 7070 Immokalee Rd. at St. Monica’s Episcopal Church. Kinderworld Academy

Kinderworld Academy is a child care facility offering daycare, before- and after-school programs, summer camp, and a voluntary prekindergarten (VPK) education program. Since its founding in 1989, this organization has been proudly providing a safe, caring environment for toddlers, preschoolers, VPK students, and students in kindergarten through the fifth grade.

Kinderworld Academy summer camp is a program in which school-age children can participate in experiential, hands-on learning. Growing Room Child Development Centers

Growing Room Child Development Centers is a preschool and daycare with locations in Bonita Springs and Fort Myers. Kids in summer camp experience arts and crafts, music, lessons, and other fun, educational activities. Daily outdoor play opportunities help kids stay active, and kids even get to go swimming every week. Of course, delicious snacks and meals are provided every day, included with tuition. Safety is a top priority, and security features include entry points requiring key card access, a fence around the yard, and security cameras.

Growing Room Child Development Centers is a fun, safe setting in which kids can play, learn, and explore. With miniature “towns,” colorful spaces, and artwork inside, kids are sure to feel happy and imaginative at this center. The summer camp is from June 21 to Aug. 5. This program is for kids kindergarten-age through eight years old. They’ll even receive a free T-shirt with enrollment. The Centers for the Arts

The Center for the Arts in Bonita Springs provides a variety of resources and mentoring opportunities for children interested in the visual and performing arts. One of the largest and oldest youth art programs in southwest Florida, this organization offers hands-on education in areas like animation, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, music, dance, film, theater, gardening, cooking, and technology.

The summer camp sessions occur from June 6 to Aug 9. Before-care is 8-9 a.m., morning camps are 9 a.m. to noon, lunch care is noon to 1 p.m., afternoon camps are 1-4 p.m., and aftercare is 4-5:30 p.m. The Performing Arts Center is located at 10150 Bonita Beach Rd. and the Visual Arts Center is located at 26100 Old 41 Rd. Sports Club

Sports Club summer camp offers a fun, safe opportunity for kids to learn, grow, develop new skills, and stay active. Here, kids can participate in sports like basketball, flag football, soccer, kickball, and dodgeball. There are also activities like games, arts and crafts, scooters, gymnastics, and dance. Campers can even choose from three to four different activities every 45 minutes.

Summer camp at the sports club center is for children 5 to 13 years old. Summer camps at Estates Elementary and Vineyards Elementary are for kids in pre-K through fifth grade, at least four years of age. The program is from June 6 to July 22. There is also an additional program from July 25 to Aug. 9. Register in person at the Sports Club center at 3275 Pine Ridge Rd. in Naples.
